...5 months Late-r

Yes, I know its been SOOOOOOO long since I have updated yall. Well, here is an update for which from now on there should be many more. The first 6 months went very interestingly to say it positively. Its was discovered in my second month that I have Fibroids (non cancerous tumors). One is about the size of a softball and blocking my birth canal. Oh and did I mention they are very painful. When the nurse told me to prepare for a very uncomfortable and painful pregnancy I did realize that those words would ring so true. Every day I am in pain to some degree and about every three and a half weeks or so it is unbearable to the point I must go to the ER.

I know that it will be all worth when Ramiyah is born. Oh yes, its a girl! I am so excited to be having daughter, just in case you are wondering her name is Hebrew and it means "God is exalted." Due to the fibroids we get to see her every month at ultrasound. It has been amazing watching her grow and now I can feel her move which is wild! We have done some shopping which has been really fun. Words cannot express my excitement.

Of course there is the whole subject of the weight gain of it all. When I found out I was pregnant I was back at 226. I am now 236 which they say is all baby (she is in the top 25% for growth). I go to the gym on a very rare basis and try to walk as much as possible. I still dance in my living room and things so I am kind of active. Now that I am not so tired anymore I am going to kick it into gear as much as I can. I have gained like a half inch in my thighs and arms and 6 inches in the belly. I will be sure to keep you all posted on my journey...I am about to play catch up on yours.

The one I owe you & a special surprise

So this post is about a week late. I did a PT test a couple of weeks ago and MAN it kicked my butt! If you couldn't tell from my earlier posts I am OBSESSED with X-Weighted. So I decided that a good way to motivate myself was to "act" like I was on the show. I came up with the idea of taking professional "Before & After" pictures and doing a physical test "Before & After." So with Derek being in the Army stupid me thought "why don't I have him give me the PT test?" Well, he agreed and took me to the spot where they take their test and everything! I had to do push-ups, sit-ups and a ahem two mile run. The Army grades based on age and has lower standards for basic training than when you are in the Army so I figured my goal for this initial test would be to pass basic. I did really well! I passed at push-ups quite easily, and was two away from passing the sit-ups. The run is a whole different story. I was sucking on the run. I couldn't finish a half mile. I suppose that is fitting though. I did rupture my Achilles and its been less than a year since I had it repaired. Ironically though I know completely understand why Paul from X-Weighted HATES the elliptical and says its not natural. I feel like while doctors may say I couldn't finish because of my injury, that I couldn't finish because I spend most of my cardio time in the gym on the elliptical. Boy do I kick some tail on the elliptical, but that treadmill, it kicks my tail. So I decided to use the treadmill for cardio and do some weight lifting before my retrial in March. Well no sooner do I get back in the swing of things that BAM! I am hit with a blessed surprise...I AM PREGGERS!!! So know I am pretty much on a super light weight/cardio regimen until I have my first visit with the OB and she/he tells me what I can and can't do. I suppose my subscription to Muscle and Fit Hers will have to be Fit Pregnancy now. I am so excited and scared. This will be our first child. I will probably start a separate blog for the pregnancy, but I am considering keeping it all in one. I'm not sure yet. Anyhoo wanted to let you know why I hadn't posted since the last one. We've had a lot to take in. As always,

Hip Hop Abs

So today I woke up at 8AM for the first time in 3 months! I started the first workout on the Hip Hop Abs series. Not only is it fun abd entertaining, but you get the work out too. Shaun T is hilarious. So I suppose, its off to work! HA! I mean, time to do the house work. So here is the rundown for the day.

Excersice: Hip-Hop Abs - Ab sculpt
Food: B - NS Peanut Butter Bar (++++), Fruit, Yogurt
L - NS Black Beans and Rice (++++), Salad, Yogurt
MS - Yogurt, Fruit
D - NS Chicken Florentine (++++), Broccoli, Salad
ES - NS Sour Cream Soy Chips (+++)

Total Calories: 1400

Back on NutriSystem!

Ok so today is the first day that I get to eat "real" food. I have planned out my food for the whole week! I am prepared! So today, I was SO tired. Doing the Power 90 workout was my first worout in 3 months. I had to get up and go to church though! Gotta get the spirit filled. Church was good, I'm feeling good, today is a nice day. I had NS Chocolate Chip granola bar (+++++), yougurt and some fruit for breaskfast. I had The NS chocolate milk drink (+++) a peice of of meat and salad for lunch. I will have yogurt and fruit for a snack and NS Pasta Fagioli (+++) salad and broccoli for dinner. To end it all I will have NS Carmel Crunch Popcorn (+++++) for "dessert." No workout today, its a rest day. 1400 Calories total intake.

I actually feel good!

Okay so day two is here! I wokeup this morning feeling great. I usually am a little sluggish getting out of bed, but I popped right up. It was 9:30, but I didn't go to bed last night til 1ish. This "FastForward" 2 day diet is no joke though. (Maybe thats how I dropped 3lbs in a day) I tried to see if there was anything "extra" in that juice because I don't feel hungry. Nope just vitamins and such. It must be a mind over matter deal. Anywoo. I am off to the gym now.

I am commited, I am strong, I can do this.

I worked out today for 35 minutes. A mash up of different things, Yoga, Cardio, light Plyo, to this tape called Power 90 express. It was cool, I have a lot of energy!

I start today

So today marks the beginning of my journey. I am the serial dieter you hear about. I have "tried" it all. Weight Watchers, LA Weightloss, Atkins, Nutrisystem you name it, chances are I have done it. The problem is I don't stick to it. There are several excuses, "I don't like the food," "It's not enough food," "I don't have the time" etc. So today I woke up and thought, "Hell lets give it one last go". I am not going to diet at least I'm not going to call it that. Out of all of the diets I have tried Nutrisystem (NS) worked the best. So I am going to restart it for a while and kick up my workouts.

I have gained A LOT of weight over the past 3 months. Its half my fault for making bad food choises and half the fact that I tore my Achilles tendon on January 27, 2007. So I have ben in a cast for the past few months not being too active. The change starts now. Each day I am commited to talk about how I feel, what I ate, and what excesie I did and for how long. I may focus on the how I feel part the most though. That I think is the link between me and food...Emotion. When I am sad, I eat. When I am happy, I eat. When I am nervous, I EAT. Basically whatever the occasion I eat. So, the hope is that I get the emotion out on this blog and not use food to cope.


I am going to upload my starting photo front and side today and give my measurements. After today I will do this every Saturday and hopefully we will see some progress. So here we go.
